PEARTREE LIFE: Experiencing Languages

12 DAYS OF CANTON Day eleven: Peartree Christmas Party

I can’t believe another year is almost gone. It seems like it was only a couple of months ago when I wrote about the Christmas party at Peartree Languages 2016 and today I am writing a blog about the Christmas party 2017.

I am very happy to say that also this year was a great success, even though we didn’t do any mannequin challenge. Even better is the number of students that came over to join us in the Gatekeeper.

The party started at 7pm, well that was the official time, but unfortunately only I was there at this time. Luckily, shortly after other students and members of staff came over as well and very soon the Peartree Languages party occupied a whole area of the pub, after some small rearrangements of the pub furniture done by Adrian and Samir. (Thank you!)

The biggest surprise of the evening was seeing Jon, who turned up in a massive winter coat and with gloves covered by tiny snowflakes. I guess that means that (proper) winter finally came to Cardiff as well.

If you ask me what was the best part of the party, I honestly wouldn’t be able to tell you. At one end of our Peartree table, it was definitely the biggest entertainer Samir, who was cracking one joke after another. From the other side of the table was the brightest guest in the pub our ex-student Olga who was entertained mostly by Jon’s and Bruce’s life stories and laughing so hard. We also enjoyed the Christmas burgers, panini’s, pizzas (yes, there was a Christmas pizza : ), stuffed turkeys and pigs in blankets but mostly the Kiwi Christmas beer which was a hit of the night.

The luckiest person at the party was definitely the winner of our special prize: An hour of private tuition at Peartree Languages! With some help from a very confused but nice waiter, who brought some desserts for our students, the happy student who walked home with a voucher from Peartree was Adrian Torres who showed his happiness with a massive ovation accompanied by cheering from other students as well (and the confused waiter).

All in all, we had so much fun and I bet our students who stayed after the majority of our staff left, had continued in the same mood. For those who bought the raffle tickets but weren’t the lucky winner we have great news as they can compete with the same tickets for the rest of the prizes which will be drawn next week!

We would like to thank to all the students, members of staff and friends of Peartree Languages, who joined us for the Christmas Party! We had loads of fun and it was a great evening thanks to you all!

Do you want to win our special prizes?? Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets!

  1. I do trust all of the concepts you’ve presented on your post. They’re really convincing and will definitely work. Still, the posts are too brief for newbies. May you please extend them a little from subsequent time? Also, I’ve shared your website in my social networks.
