It seems impossible to remember a time when Calabrisella, the very popular Italian coffee shop on Cowbridge Road, Canton, did not exist and did you know that Salvo and Angelo were two of our first ever students at Peartree way back more than 10 years ago? That makes me feel old! Today as part of the 12 days of Canton we bring you an interview with Angelo all about how this lovely little piece of Italy came to be and what the future holds.
We are locals to Canton, we have lived on Cowbridge Road since we arrived in Cardiff and we were always passing, we like the area.
Pizza Calabrisella - it has simple but delicious toppings from our region (tomato, buffalo mozzarella, nduja and sun dried tomato).
We plan to expand our mobile pizza services with our pizza van. We already have weddings booked and other events in 2018.
If you would like to catch a ‘slice’ of the van, you will find them at Cardiff Gate in February, or just keep an eye on the windows of the restaurant! We are certainly very proud of you guys!!
Calabrisella have kindly donated a bag of Spicchi di Sole sweets to our raffle. Don’t forget to buy your tickets now and support BAWSO.

On November 2nd 2014. We are three friends, Salvatore Vara, Angelo Demeo and Domenico Ventura and we all went to school together in Reggio Calabria and owning our own coffee shop has always been our dream since we were young, now it’s a reality and we are really proud of that.
