It is only 6 days to our Christmas Party…(whoop whoop) and our Sunday blog post is about another great activity provider.
Boulders Climbing Centre is a well established indoor climbing facility and has a great reputation, so much so that we just can’t miss it off our social programme. We can’t even imagine our summer school without visiting this centre, sometimes once a week!
They have over 120 lines of indoor climbing, covering over 2,000 square meters of climbing surface and reaching heights of 12m. They try to ensure there are at least 3 routes per line on every line, so at capacity their maximum number of routes will exceed 360. They like to keep mixing it up, with constant route setting, that aims to have at least 50 new routes up per month.
To keep things interesting, they have a liberal spread of volumes strategically placed all over the walls. They move these around regularly to help change the dynamics of the lines and make for more interesting routes. All their routes and boulder problems include any volume or arĂȘte you can get your foot or hand on. This makes routes much easier to understand and creates some pretty interesting sequences.
If you get bored of going to the gym or doing the same kind of exercise, you should try climbing or other classes offered by Boulders. As a small inspiration, the manager of Boulders has donated a voucher for a free climbing session that the lucky winner of our Christmas raffle can try. Have you bought your ticket yet?
