PEARTREE LIFE: Experiencing Languages

How to become a student at Peartree Languages?

You have either moved to Cardiff permanently or only for a few months, and you would like to improve your English! Or maybe you want to improve your skills in order to pass an English exam? Does that sound familiar to you? Great! We have the exact instructions on how to become a student and learn English at Peartree Languages! So, whatever your personal or professional reason is, you are on the right place.

     Step 1 - Contact us!

On our website http://www.peartreelanguages.com, you can find important information about our location, contact details, courses and prices. Everything is only a few clicks away.
If you are feeling confident enough to give us a call, you can use our landline number +44 (0) 2920 342 067 or our mobile phone +44 (0) 7378 354 654. We are also available through Whatsapp, so just save the phone number and send us a quick message.
If you are not a confident English speaker, but love sending emails? We have an option for you too. You can just send a quick email to info@peartreelanguages.com and, even if you have a very low level of English, the email can be translated for you, or you can send it in your own language. The Student Experience Coordinator, Tereza, will contact you and answer to your queries.
The school is accredited by the British Council, so you can follow general courses, I.E.L.T.S. preparation or Cambridge Exams preparation.

Step 2 - Find us! We want to meet you!

If you prefer to meet us directly at Peartree, we are open from Mondays to Fridays from 8.30 to 17.00 every day. The school is located in Canton: 2A Llandaff Road, Canton, Cardiff, CF11 9NJ.

For more information about our location and how to find us go to our website: http://www.peartreelanguages.com/about/

If you have already been in touch over email or phone call, we will ask you to come to our school personally as you will need to do an assessment test.

Step 3 - Assessment test. We need to know the right level of your English!

At this moment, you will know about the prices and you will have met our Centre Manager or our Academic Manager. You will have possibly explained to them why you want to study English, what your goals are or what exactly you need to improve. It has been easy so far, hasn’t it? So what is the next step? To better understand the level of your English and recommend the best study option, we need to give you an assessment test / level test. Don’t worry! It is nothing hard. We have developed a specific test with different types of questions which helps us to place you in the right classes. This test lasts around thirty minutes and is followed by a chat with the Academic Manager, Everton, so we can evaluate the level of your speaking, pronunciation and listening.
As some of our students might not have time to come to Peartree in person, or maybe they want to do the assessment test before their arrival, we can always send a copy of the test by email. We can also organise a Skype meeting and check your speaking and listening over Skype.

    Step 4 - Timetable

You are almost our student! However, you still need to let us know when you can come to school for your classes. At this point, we will create a timetable that best suits your availability. In case you are not sure about it, you are welcome to take the timetable with you to either think about it or discuss it with your manager.
We have several options of English courses and different timetables available. You can find more details following this link: http://www.peartreelanguages.com/our-courses/

Step 5 - Administration and enrolling

Before you start the classes, following your confirmed timetable, you will need to do a few administration bits. First, you will have to complete our application form. Don’t worry if you can’t find it online! We will give you a copy here at the school. We will also need a copy of your passport or ID.
Then, you will need to make a payment for the course. The payment will include administration, course and study materials fees. We have many special offers, so it is always good to come to school and talk to us. You would have an extra advantage if you bring a friend (as you will get a free class) or in case you enroll on the course together, as you will share the administration fee. Sounds good already, doesn’t it?

    Step 6 - Welcome!

You made it! You are now our student! Well done! You are enrolled for an initial period of four weeks, but you can extend it and stay at Peartree for as long as you wish! You will have a tour of the school, and receive our Welcome Pack and Student Handbook (full of useful information). We will also give you your timetable with the courses planned and all the information you need to begin the lessons. The timetable will be done according to your availability and depending on the number of hours you choose (full-time or part-time). If you decided to go for general English group classes, we will see you in the morning from 9.00 to 12.15. There is a break of fifteen minutes in which you can chat with other students and while drinking a cup of coffee or tea (How very British!).
If you know you can’t come to your lessons one day, talk to Tereza and she will help you to reschedule.

Now you are ready to start your classes. And we are always around to help you in case you have any questions or problems. Congratulations and enjoy!

Final step - What do I get when I finish?

Besides greatly improving your English language skills and an official certificate for passing an English examination that you needed? You will also receive a certificate from Peartree Languages with your name, your start and end dates and the level of English of your lessons at Peartree Languages.

So, what do you think? Do you want to start now? As you can see, it is a very easy process. So, contact us and come to our school! We will help you to reach your goals!
