PEARTREE LIFE: Experiencing Languages

#proudtobeme: Wales’ 2018 Pride Weekend is about to start!

It’s the end of August and we can finally welcome Pride Cymru again in Cardiff! This means get your rainbow flags out and come to Cardiff to meet people of all backgrounds celebrating equality and tolerance!

The organisers have managed to put together a plethora of different events under the name of “Big Weekend 2018” which will be held on 24th, 25th and 26th August this week. You might want to get a ticket and enjoy a fab day out in City Hall Lawns with music acts and like-minded people.

Even more, you can call up some friends and watch the big parade going around town on Saturday between 11am and 12.30pm. The parade will make its way along the castle and through city center so there’s more than enough space to come and watch! The organisers say: “Last years parade had over 7000 participants stretching over a mile long through the streets of Cardiff, we’re confident that this year will be bigger, brighter and louder!”

This year’s parade will follow the route above. High Street and St. Mary’s Street offer lots of nice cafés to sit and watch the parade. Why not invite your friends over a fun afternoon in town? The parade is going to feature many different acts such as dancing groups, artists and human rights clubs following the trail.
“As a charity, our remit is to work for the promotion of the elimination of discrimination. Whether this be on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender, race, religion and ability. We work towards this through our annual celebration of equality and diversity at Pride Cymru.”
